Monarchy - the two king kingdom
Description:
Monarchy is for all those brainiacs who find thrill in the beautiful game of chess. It is an event for all those chess masters and chess lovers out there… however, there is a twist… monarchy is a never played before team-chess game, where-in both the team members play at once…! This event gives you a chance to display your mental prowess in a mind-boggling new game of team-chess where one move can bring you both down together!!
Event details: This event is a team event and participation is expected in teams of two. Round 1: In the preliminary round, the teams would be required to play a game of monster chess(time bound, move restricted & tricky chess situation). Any one member of each team must play against that of the other team. This is an elimination round. Round 2: Concept: This involves a game of team-chess. Two teams would play two parallel chess games i.e., the 2 team members of each team would play parallely. For example, consider 2 teams- team A and team B. Team A has players 1 and 2. Likewise team B has players 3 and 4. A Parallel game of chess implies that player 1 plays against player 3 and, player 2 plays against player 4 simultaneously. The game: The game starts normally where the whites move first. The interesting part: Now if a player kills his opponent’s piece, that piece gets transferred to his team mate’s army on the other board based on some criteria. I.e., the way one team member plays, may turn out to be advantageous or disadvantageous for the other, and hence the team. Criteria: 1. First 8 pieces that get killed are transferred. 2. King and Queen are non- transferable. Judging Criteria:- If one player check- mates his opponent on either of the boards, the team wins. In case no player is able to checkmate his/her opponent, the winning team will be decided on the basis of higher unit points at the end of an undisclosed time limit. The points are: Pawn – 1 Bishop – 3 Knight - 4 Rook – 5 Queen – 10 It maybe duly noted that under all circumstances, the decision of the organisers is final.
